I really hate feeling like this.
Today something tragic happened, an individual who clearly had been struggling with internal and external conflict went to school and shot fellow classmates. Now the purpose of this venting session is not to justify right or wrongs, but to prove how we “bleeding heart Americans” handle situations like this, because lately this situation has been all too familiar to my school.
Sure it’s insensitive to say it wasn’t our school why is everyone so involved, people care and want to do their part in supporting something, and that’s good and well but until you are “praying” and giving your best of wishes to ALL the families who lost someone, I really don’t know what you’re trying to prove. for example
Today a 10 year old girl in California died, by rulings of homicide, tragic? very, did I see any of my facebook “friends” wishing her family well? nope.
9 Afghans were killed in a suicide bombing
According to the Plain Dealer obituaries 51 people died TODAY. Were one of those people mentioned? No.
Why were these people not mentioned? You could argue that A.) People who did not mention them didn’t know them B.) They are from a different country or a different state, sure but why are people who didn’t know people from this particular situation, never had much more of an association with the area other than they’ve drove through it before, making up all these excuses as to why this particular situation changed their views on life, and society, and then they turn around and blame society for causing these problems. What’s the real problem? People like YOU. Just because it was televised by news stations and posted all over easily accessed media, all the sudden this is the only tragedy that’s happening. I’m not saying what happened isn’t tragic, because it truly is. All I’m saying is if you’re going to act like you care about someone you never met, you should probably care about everyone else you never met. Maybe that’s what’s wrong with society, no one cares until it’s something to talk about.
I found this on pinterest. I just had to post it on tumblr because I thought it belonged here too. I personally could not agree more with this. The best relationships come from the best friendships.
